About Me

I am a native speaker of European Portuguese with exceptional writing skills and outstanding command of formal, colloquial, technical and literary linguistic nuance. My superior foreign language abilities (fluency in English and Spanish and proficiency in French and Italian) and expertise in several disciplines of knowledge allow me to provide linguistic services in a plethora of subject matters.

Along with my extensive experience (19 years) in translation, proofreading and software/website development and localization, my academic/professional background includes:

• MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Electronic and Computer Systems, 5 years);
• Completion of the first two curricular years of Mechanical Engineering;
• Researcher and coordinator in several EC R&D projects (EU Framework Programme) pertaining to the fields of thermodynamics, energy and environment;
• Sporadic tutoring/docent activity (mathematics, physics, electronics and programming).

I am therefore particularly suited for the translation of technical content, an occupation where my in-depth theoretical knowledge in a comprehensive range of domains plays a major role, for it enables me to understand not merely functionality, but functioning.
